How We Compare Providers
Our methodology for calculating and ranking total transfer cost across money transfer providers.
What we measure
We compare providers on total cost to the sender for a given corridor and amount. Total cost combines exchange rate and fees to show the real value of your transfer.
Effective exchange rate
We compute the effective rate as: amount your recipient receives ÷ amount you pay. This captures any FX markup (spread) that a provider adds to the mid‑market rate.
Fees
We include published transfer fees and, where available, additional payment or payout surcharges (e.g., card funding, cash pickup). Some corridors may also incur intermediary bank fees that vary by bank.
Data sources
- Live exchange rates: public FX endpoints for indicative market rates
- Provider fees and options: provider websites and public docs where available
- Refresh cadence: we refresh rates frequently; fees are reviewed regularly
Delivery options and speed
Providers offer different payout methods (bank, wallet, cash pickup) and speeds. We highlight these where possible; your actual choices may vary by recipient country, currency, and compliance checks.
Amounts and corridors
Results can change based on how much you send and the currencies involved. For the fairest comparison, use the amount and corridor you actually plan to send.
Quote timing
Quotes are time‑limited. Exchange rates move, and providers can update pricing at any time. Always confirm the final quote on the provider’s checkout before paying.

- Data is provided “as is” and may not reflect temporary promos or bank charges outside the provider’s control.
